I've finally joined...sort of.
I've owned various Suzukis for almost 20 years.
My first was a 4 door Vitara x-ec (L11 AXA) Lifted on 33s and is owned by a member here. I'd like to find out where my old Yellow LJ160 is. A member here used to own it then it went down South.
Now I just have 4, 2 of which were built by Leigh, a 1600cc LHD LJ80 on 33s (in Leigh's boring green which will soon change when I bring it over to the US) & a Vitara on 35s with a Twin Transfer Box that Leigh also installed.
Hopefully I'll get a chance to wheel my Vitara with you guys in 2013.

Hi Joe - welcome back to the forum. Your old Vitara is still going well and now lives in Essex although not with that reg as I have retained it (Lil 4X4). Good luck with the LJ hunt. Keep in touch.

I don't know much of its history between when you let it go and I got is last September. I picked it up off eBay as a project, it needed some of Leigh's TLC with a TIG to patch up the sills and suspension turret, rear wheel bearing and brake shoes and front driveshaft gaiter to get it through the MOT. It ran and stopped but had had a hard life. I only got it for the winter as I didn't fancy using my own LJ softop but as it happened I could have as the winter wasn't that harsh. It had a habit of destroying nearside front driveshafts (3 in 3 outings) but managed to get me (nearly) everywhere I wanted to go in 2WD. I enjoyed it and would have kept it if I had the room.

Bob I had it from new in October 1993. Lifted it with the Pro Comp kit in 1995 & put the 33s & bodylift on it in 1997. I wheeled it a few times but never broke anything. The only part that "failed" was the factory exhaust that was OK but wouldn't make it back on when it had to come off so as to change a gearbox seal in 2003. So it was a 10 year old exhaust... we'll let it off. The sump guard made out of aluminium was a dumb idea. The bumpers were OK but unfortunately not "mum proof" The only real problem I had with it was the alarm would drain the battery. It was a great vehicle. Probably the best I've owned. I miss it & its reliability. Oh to get 20 mpg. She was 15 when I sold her & I presume she's been wheeled hard but not bad for a 20 year old car that's starting to show its age. Front Driveshaft: I thnk that's why Calmini do their Anvil.
