Guys, This is what my little LJ came with: 15x7 wheels and 205/75/15R tyres I then changed them to these: 16x7 Modulars with 225x75x16R AT's My question is this, in its stock standard form that its in now what do you think would be the biggest MT tyre I could fit on the 15" rim or the 16" modular please? I was thinking something like a 235x75x15 or 16 maybe? The tyre I was looking at was a BFG KM2 MT, really dont want a remould to be honest, i'd poop mayself driving around in them with my little boy just in case something happened What do you think please guys Regards Tony

lj80s as std had 16inch steel wheels with 600x16 tyres the wheels you have are prob vit or sj after market ones , you should be able to fit 235/75x15 tyres on there ok the bfg good choice , if you have front disc breaks its worth getting some free wheeling hubs on there lot better mpg,lot smoother on road, and better performance

i would stick to 15inch as you cant get the off set wheels with 16 inch , i think you would be pushing your luck with these ones , if you go 235/75x15 on a 7 or 8 x15 wheel they would do fine

It is possible to get a slightly larger tyre underneath a pretty standard LJ - this image is of my former jeep wearing 31/10.50/15 BFG A/T's on 6 inch Jimny OZ alloys. The only mods were parabolic springs all round and longer spring shackles (4" by memory) but I did have to use wheel spacers on the front to stop the tyres fouling the chassis. Attachments:
